UNILAG Admission: JAMB Promises to Resolve Issue of Awaiting Result Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has assured candidates who applied for admission into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) that it will resolve the issue of their awaiting result status. This comes after reports that over 2,000 candidates were denied admission by UNILAG because they did not upload their O’Level results on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) platform before the commencement of admission by the university.According to JAMB, candidates are responsible for uploading their O’Level results on CAPS, and those who fail to do so before the deadline set by their chosen institutions are automatically disqualified. However, the board said it has assigned a desk officer to each institution to monitor their admission transactions and ensure that no candidate who is qualified to be admitted is denied such admission.

JAMB also said it has opened a ticketing platform for candidates to raise queries when they feel shortchanged or have any complaint about their admission status. The board said it is investigating the claims of some candidates who alleged that they were ranked high on CAPS but were not offered admission by UNILAG. The board said it will engage the university to arrive at a just and equitable outcome for all parties involved.

JAMB urged candidates to remain calm and patient as it works to resolve the issue of awaiting result candidates. The board also advised candidates to always check their admission status on CAPS and accept or reject any offer made to them. JAMB said it is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in the admission process for all candidates.
