2024 UTME: JAMB Issues Strong Warning Against Multiple Registration

In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to prospective candidates, cautioning them against engaging in multiple registrations. The registration process for the 2024 UTME is set to kick off on January 15, and JAMB is determined to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.

JAMB, in its latest bulletin, emphasized that multiple registrations are strictly prohibited for the 2024 UTME. Ville Pius, the director of JAMB’s test administration department, stressed in a statement that candidates found guilty of such actions would face disqualification and legal prosecution. “Candidates who register more than once would be identified, disqualified, and prosecuted,” warned Pius.

To avoid complications during the registration process, Pius urged candidates to approach the board for necessary corrections rather than resorting to obtaining fresh application documents. Any attempt to register multiple times, according to the statement, would be considered a violation, leading to the invalidation of the candidates’ applications.

Candidates are encouraged to carefully read and comprehend the guidelines provided by JAMB for the registration process. Additionally, upon completing their registration, candidates will be required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) committing to compliance with ethical standards guiding their applications.

Director Ville Pius also issued a cautionary note, advising candidates against sharing their security details, including registration numbers, passwords, e-mail addresses, and e-PIN, with third parties. JAMB emphasized that no examination center is authorized to request or accept candidates’ passwords.

JAMB had previously announced that the deadline for the 2024 UTME registration is set for February 26. The examination itself is scheduled to take place from April 19 to 29. The board is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that all candidates adhere to the established guidelines for a fair and equitable assessment.
