List Of Universities That Offers Radiography In Nigeria 2023/2024

Radiography is a health course that receives a fair number of JAMB applications each year. While it may not be as competitive as Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, or Nursing, the standard for admitting students is similar to those courses. However, out of over 100 universities in Nigeria, only seven (7), including federal, state, and private universities, are fully accredited to offer Radiography, making it somewhat competitive for students to gain admission into.

To be able to apply to become a Radiographer in Nigeria, you need to know the complete list of universities that offer this course. This information can be difficult to get, which is why we have created this guide. All you have to do is sit back, take a glass of water, and read through diligently for details.

Which University Offers Radiography?

In reality, all universities, whether federal, private, or state, can offer Radiography, but not all do. This is because not all universities are able to meet the minimum requirements set by the National University Council (NUC) for this course. Only universities that meet the minimum requirements can accept students through JAMB or any other acceptable admission process to study Radiography.

Studying Radiography in federal universities is more affordable/cheaper than in state or private universities (the most expensive). The following are the list of universities that offer Radiography in Nigeria, both federal, state, and private:

  • Bayero University, Kano
  • Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka
  • University of Calabar, Calabar
  • University of Lagos
  • University of Maiduguri
  • University of Nigeria Nsukka
  • Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto

If you must become a Radiographer in Nigeria, you must apply to any of the universities listed above to study Radiography and obtain your degree. Polytechnics do not offer Radiography.

In summary, only seven (7) universities in Nigeria are fully accredited for Radiography where students interested in studying Radiography can apply. It is essential to make sure the school you apply to has been accredited by the National University Commission (NUC) before making any decisions. Applying to any school without accreditation is a complete waste of time.
