JAMB Registrar Commends Federal Government’s Efforts in Tackling Fake Universities and Certificates

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has expressed commendation for the Federal Government’s proactive measures in investigating the proliferation of fake universities and certificates within the country.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Friday, Prof. Oloyede acknowledged the crucial steps taken by the government in addressing the issue of counterfeit educational institutions and certificates. He emphasized that the state of education in Nigeria, while facing challenges, has been on an upward trajectory with continuous improvements expected in the future.

“I think the honorable minister (of education) is doing the right thing. In Nigeria, at times, when we run into one small problem, the solutions could be more disastrous. He has done the right thing by constituting a committee to look into the problem and recommend ways out. The committee will come up with facts, and we can now work on those facts,” Prof. Oloyede stated.

The JAMB registrar emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and fact-based approach to address challenges within the education sector. He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to provide accurate information and recommendations, which can serve as a foundation for practical solutions.

While acknowledging the ongoing efforts to enhance the education system, Prof. Oloyede stressed the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in contributing to the growth and improvement of the sector. He affirmed JAMB’s commitment to stabilizing innovations that have positively impacted the quality of the organization’s work, ensuring that services are consistently delivered at a high standard.

“We will also ensure that our services are better delivered,” he added, underlining the commitment of JAMB to providing efficient and effective services to the benefit of students and the education system as a whole.

The commendation from the JAMB registrar reflects the collaborative spirit between the government and educational bodies, aiming to address challenges, enhance the quality of education, and maintain the credibility of academic certifications in Nigeria.
